Types of Container Handlers

Empty – As the name suggests, these models are designed to handle unloaded steel shipping containers. Featuring lift capacities between 19,800 and 22,000 lbs and a wide mast, they can stack up to 8 containers high. Each unit is also equipped with “load sense” technology that adjusts the lifting power based on the weight of the load. This allows for increased fuel efficiency and less strain on the machine over time. Single and double stacking spreaders are also available for each model, further increasing productivity and efficiency.

Loaded – These container handlers specialize in handling loaded shipping containers. Each unit combines a fast total operating speed (lifting, lowering, and driving) with a best-in-class ratio of lifting capacity to total truck size and length. The result is a blend of power and efficiency that allows you to move heavy loads in less time. Featuring lift capacities between 52,000 and 99,200 lbs, Konecranes loaded container handlers can stack up to 5 containers high. Gantry-type and double stacking spreaders are also available for each unit to handle the most demanding jobs.
