TICO Terminal Tractors - TICO terminal tractors was founded in 1975, breaking into the North American market in 2008 as owner/operators. When they couldn’t find any durable or reliable options for yard spotters, they decided it was time to make their own. Benefits & Features

Hydraulic 5th Wheel – Each unit is equipped with a hydraulic 5th wheel that allows the operator to load and unload a shipping container without needing to get out of the cab.

Toughness You Can Count On – Our yard spotters are equipped with a heavy-duty Cummins diesel engine, Allison transmission, and Meritor axels. They also feature a galvanized truck with 1.5” thick boom rails, continuous hand welds (no stitch welds), and the strongest frame in the industry. This ensures that each unit is built to endure the “bang and crash” of shunting.

Easy Maintenance from Ground Level – Designed with the operator in mind, each of our terminal tractors offer easy service and maintenance. All servicing checks including oil and fluids can be performed at ground level without tilting the cab. Furthermore, all maintenance can be performed with standard hand tools, eliminating the need to carry specialized equipment. All of this combines to ensure that your repairs can be completed in minutes, not hours.

Air Operated Doors – Rather than manual bus-style doors, each terminal tractor in our lineup features air operated doors that open and close with the push of a button. This makes them much safer and easier to utilize.

Unmatched Comfort – Featuring a soundproof and spacious cab, power windows, reduced cab vibrations, and a windshield that is 30% larger than other leading brands, our yard spotters provide maximum comfort and visibility for operators.

DOT Certified Options – We offer a selection of DOT Certified yard spotters that can be driven on the road. This is ideal for transporting containers between locations or to a distant destination. A 65L fuel tank also ensures maximum run time between each stop.
