If you’re looking for a skid steer training program that can fit any schedule, Lonestar Forklift can help. Our skid steer certification course is a combination of online theory and in-person practical assessment. This allows for flexibility without cutting any content out of the equation. Our skid steer certification complies with all relevant OSHA and ANSI standards, ensuring that operators are trained in the best operating and safety practices.
This skid steer certification program is divided into two parts:
This portion of the training covers the operational theory and knowledge behind safe skid steer operation. As an online course, it is self-paced and can be paused as needed based on your schedule.
This online skid steer training is available in both English and Spanish and requires approximately 105 minutes to complete. Testing is conducted at the end of this course to reinforce the knowledge presented. Participants are given up to three attempts to achieve a score of at least 80% on this test.
Upon passing the online portion of this course, participants can schedule the practical portion at their work site. This assessment puts the skills imparted from the online theory to the test by operating a skid steer in person. Participants will operate a skid steer loader under the supervision of one of our experienced instructors. This instructor will assist with safe navigating procedures and safe load handling practices. The practical assessment portion of our skid steer certification course requires anywhere from 45 minutes to 4 hours to complete. This time frame varies based on class size and other factors.
Upon completion of this blended skid steer training program, participants become certified skid steer operators. This certification is valid for 3 years from the date it is issued.
